Teacher Training Program
Professional Development in Somatic & Sensual Embodied Practice
The Messy Movement Lab® Teacher Training is a professional development opportunity for coaches, healers, dance teachers, movers, and therapists who want to integrate a somatic and sensual embodied practice into their own work based on the Messy Movement Lab® method.
This training offers structured learning, applied praxis, and guided integration through live online classes, 1:1 coaching, and in-person retreat immersion.
About the Method
The Messy Movement Lab® method is made up of nine practices.
Through themed teacher trainings and praxis-based exploration, practitioners engage with specific practices within the method and learn how to integrate those practices into their existing work, with acknowledgement back to the Messy Movement Lab®.
Participation in this training does not certify someone to teach the full Messy Movement Lab® method.
Over time, practitioners may take multiple trainings and courses within the method. This pathway can lead to becoming a partner with the Messy Movement Lab® to teach the full method.
Certification Scope
Participants are certified to teach specific practices and to integrate those practices into their own offerings as Intro Level Messy Movement Lab® practitioners method. Teachers may not teach under the brand name but they are allowed to acknowledge their certification in our intro method of practice.
Focus of This Training: The Erotic Spectrum
This teacher training focuses on the practice known as the Erotic Spectrum.
The Erotic Spectrum explores how to invite students into a sensual movement practice beyond the normal archetypes, and how having access to more emotional range deepens the expression of those archetypes.
Emotional Spectrum & Core Seeking Needs
The method examines the emotional spectrum and the core seeking needs as defined by Jaak Panksepp.
Practitioners learn how to articulate movement in the body that supports the contrast and desire of those core needs.
Utilizing this method allows students to find more access to:
their true intuitive self
their feminine energy
their masculine energy
their sensual self
This exploration exists beyond the binary of sexy or not.
The practice supports cultivating a relationship with the body that honors full emotional range, without having to perform openness when the heart is really broken.
Attendance & Commitment
This is a structured professional training.
Live attendance is required for:
12 week training series
One year of practice training weekly after 12 week certification.
Certification Training Days: Sessions Monday + Wednesdays 12-2pm PST, Saturdays 9-11am PST and Sundays 4-6 pm PST.
96 hour training
Sessions are recorded.
Exam and certification required post completion of series.
