It’s still cool to love your body, right now.

It’s still cool to love your body as it is and to love yourself into change. You don’t have to destroy, embarrass, ridicule, mock, or kill your former self in order to welcome changes. Such violence on the self is a direct reflection of white supremacist, capitalistic patriarchy, in the words of bell hooks, a system designed to make you believe you’re not worth care. Therefore, you spend thousands to hate yourself as you are and constantly reach for an unattainable version of beauty.

You measure your body against the goal and work tirelessly to be something else while growing resentment for the very vessel waking you up every day.

There’s peace and freedom in loving yourself deeply and unconditionally. That doesn’t require stagnation or giving up the pursuit of improving your health, but it does require you to release your obsession with white standards. And yes, even white people suffer from the harm and rigid European standards of beauty.
