How do you long to feel in your body?
I am reminded constantly and called back a quote from #AReturnToPleasure : Pleasure is our fuel, not a reward -@rashidawebbmiller
It may feel overzealous for me to quote myself on my own post but ownership of my work and claiming that is critical. There is a creator in Australia I believe, a white woman, who has been sharing this quote as her own work for the last year with no recourse. Another woman has forcibly been using the quote to sell her coaching program with my name listed as an after thought in the comments. So if you wonder why I go so hard please see exhibit a/b.
And we move..
How do you crave to feel in your body?
it’s really interesting to think about this question today. Especially on a day where my body is having a flare up of pain.
I long to feel even more aware of my bodies needs and I long to feel strong in body , maybe stronger than I’ve ever felt.
I long to feel peace with what I need to do to adjust my bodies care and to own that relentlessly for my own healing/betterment.
Obviously this feels like the antithesis to “sensuality” or feeling connected to my erotic self but that’s only if I am viewing my erotic self as a performance, as an extension of something outside of myself and not as fuel.
I come back to this primary quote from my book that “Pleasure is our fuel, not a reward”. The erotic is a sanctuary within us that is overflowing with power and healing and grace and compassion.
And when we are EMBODIED in that energy and not grasping to it on the surface we recognize it has a spectrum that includes grief/sadness/pain/disconnection as well as the good feeling emotions as well.
When we are embodied in our erotic self we understand that tapping into the energy can offer the shift that we are longing for in the nervous system, the spirit and body in ways that distancing ourselves from pleasure will not.
